From layout to decor, the Beach House is gracious and tasteful. That couch was custom-made for this space, and is as comfortable as it looks. There's a nice 27-inch TV in that armoire, and that dining table seats twelve people. And the windows look out onto the deck, and beyond that, the river. |
Gaze out toward the river while you cook. The whole downstairs is bright and airy like this, and the upstairs bedrooms are wood-paneled and cabin-like. |
The whole house is oriented toward the river and morning sun. Here's a view from behind one of the fig trees in the garden. That deck is 16' x 24'. Which is very big. Everything in this picture is drenched in sunlight all morning. The large fenced-in garden is perfect for napping, picnicking, or playing with your kids and/or dog. There are about a dozen fruit trees providing you with free food in the summer. |
Dang, those chairs are elegant. You're looking out across the river at the reason this area is called Forestville. By the way, this deck (and, for that matter, the whole house) is quite private. |

Here's a view of the river from the master bedroom's private porch. Click on it. |
And here's that top deck. Drenched in sun in the morning, shady in the afternoon, this little deck off the master bedroom is the ideal place to feel (and be) above it all. |

Waking up is a real pleasure in the master bedroom. A brand-new California king bed with high-quality linens, that exquisite headboard, the French doors opening onto your private deck... And that's the river you see through the door. |
| That there is a brand-new, top-of-the-line seven-person tub. It is an absolute delight. Beyond it, suspended between two of the seven or eight giant redwoods on this property, is a hammock, universal symbol of leisure. Just try to be uptight in that thing. It's not possible! |
Here's your beach -- just a few hundred feet away! There's great swimming, lots of sun, and discrete areas that are safe for kids. |
This is looking downriver from the same beach. |
